Description
The Proton Lite series from Boson Systems is a modular, fully sealed night vision ecosystem designed for mission-critical adaptability. Built from 7075-T6 aluminum and rated to IP68, the Proton Lite features swappable, purged optical pods that can operate independently as a monocular (Lite-O) or together as a binocular (Mk2) without requiring re-purging. This system emphasizes rugged simplicity with a minimal electronic footprint, gold-plated spring contacts, and analog power control for reliability under harsh conditions. The bridge includes auto-shutoff when either pod is rotated up, and the sealed design eliminates exposed wiring. Power is supplied by a single CR123A battery, offering around 40 hours of operation.
Boson supports multiple optics configurations—including Basic, RPO 3.0, and FOV58 options—compatible with standard PVS-14 glass. The Mk2 binocular weighs roughly 545 g with battery and optics, while the Lite-O monocular averages 270 g. Designed for both professional and tactical users, the Proton Lite delivers the durability of a fixed-bridge metal housing with the modular flexibility of an articulating, sealed-pod system.
