The AB Night Vision RVM-14 is a ruggedized 1× night-vision monocular housing, billet-machined from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum as a stronger, lighter alternative to a conventional PVS-14. It takes MX-11769-style image intensifier tubes and standard mil-spec PVS-14 objective and eyepiece optics (lightweight RPO lenses also fit). A single CR123 runs the unit about 75 hours at room temperature. Bare housing weight is about 4.0 oz. Fully assembled with standard optics and battery it is about 10.6 oz (300 g) — AB lists that as roughly 15% lighter than a typical single-AA PVS-14 with about 50% longer runtime.
A rotary switch powers the tube at full brightness, then rolls gain down as you turn it. Onboard IR is a fenced front push-button so it does not fire by accident. Edge-of-view indicators show IR on and low battery. The top mini-dovetail takes AB’s articulating RVM-14 Arm (single mono) or RVM-14 Bridge (two monoculars as a modular binocular that stows back against the helmet). A side ¼-20 thread accepts PVS-14-style accessories and mounts.
1×, 40° field of view, focus from 9.8 inches to infinity, diopter −6 to +2, 25 mm eye relief. Size 2.0 × 2.6 × 4.2 in. Submersible to 66 ft. Flat Black (media-blasted, anodized) or Flat Dark Earth (Cerakote over anodize). Housing parts and workmanship carry AB’s lifetime housing warranty per their published policy.
