The RPNVG (Ruggedized Panning Night Vision Goggle) is a durable panning binocular night vision system built for users who need expanded situational awareness without compromising strength or reliability. Constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, the RPNVG housing provides increased impact resistance and protects critical contact points in demanding environments.
Unlike traditional fixed-bridge goggles, the RPNVG features a panning optical design that allows each pod to slide along the bridge and pan outward. In its standard 40-degree configuration, the system functions as a fully collimated fixed-bridge goggle. When panned outward, the user can manually expand the field of view up to 65 degrees, reducing head movement while increasing peripheral awareness.
Each optical pod can be removed without tools and configured as individual monoculars when paired with a monocular battery assembly (sold separately). The RPNVG includes an onboard IR illuminator, in-view IR and low battery indicators, and can be powered by a single CR123 battery or an auxiliary battery pack via a LEMO-compatible port supporting outputs up to 3.3V.
