PVS-14/PVS-7 objective pinhole lens cap. Press-fits over the objective to protect the glass and to let the tube be function checked in daylight through the center hole.

Product Information

This is the standard AN/PVS-14 objective lens cap, which also serves as a daylight training filter. It press-fits onto the objective housing.

The cap keeps debris off the objective. The pinhole passes enough light for a daylight function check without exposing the intensifier to a full-aperture daytime scene. It is the same style cap used on PVS-7B/D objectives. It is not a sacrificial window and it is not a threaded filter.
